As I walk this land of depression and recession
I have visions of many things
But life is only a struggle for survival.

The ladders of success stand al around me
But I seem to just keep getting kicked off them
I don't know if life will ever let me reach the top.

Pride keeps me from giving up hope
Determination makes me keep on climbing
Oppression keeps kicking me down.

What becomes of the oppressed?
Who keep on struggling?
Do they become successful in life?

The answer to these I do not know
But I do know that I will never give up the fight
Even if I have to struggle the rest of my life
